Woodman's Markets to Provide Online Digital Imaging Services

JANESVILLE, Wis. -- Regional independent Woodman's Markets this week launched a new digital imaging service that allows its customers to upload digital photos and pick up prints in an hour at its 11 stores across Wisconsin and Illinois.

Woodman's will use LifePics' LabCenter lab software to send orders directly to Fuji Frontier photo labs at each store. "While we have been offering an online service for a while, we realized that we needed to upgrade to one-hour service directly to the store and offer a more robust and comprehensive solution to maintain our competitive edge," said Larry Nitz, photo category manager at Woodman's. "LifePics allows us to send orders directly to each of our stores, while at the same time allowing us to sell high-margin products like photo templates and photo-related gifts."

Using LifePics' technology, photofinishers are able to accept orders from consumers via the Internet and send those orders directly to a photofinishing lab that's most convenient to the consumer. LifePics allows consumers to pick up their prints at over 2,200 retail locations across the United States and Canada.

Employee-owned and operated Woodman's Markets has 11 stores across those two states. Its large-format stores offer a selection of food and drug products as well as a range of services, including photo processing.
