Woodman's Open 225,000-square-footer in Oak Creek, Wis.

To the acclaim of local shoppers who are already raving about great prices and outstanding selection, Woodman's Food Markets opened its first store in Oak Creek, Wis., a 225,000-square-foot megastore that measures about four times the size of an average Milwaukee-area supermarket.

The Janesville, Wis.-based chain's newest store comes after years of searching for a location in Milwaukee County. The 13-store, employee-owned grocer also has a store planned for Sun Prairie, Wis., and is reportedly looking to add to its northern Illinois locations as well.

In addition to traditional departments and a large assortment of ethnic foods, Woodman's new Oak Creek store features a 15,000-square-foot liquor store stocked with wines from around the world and a large variety of beers, among which includes a huge assortment of microbrews housed on a 96-foot wall. The store will also open an adjacent gas station in about a month.
