Brookshire Grocery's Manufacturing Plants Win Awards

Regional chain Brookshire Grocery Co., based in Tyler, Texas, said yesterday that its manufacturing plants won national awards for operations, sanitation, and product quality at the All Star Dairy Association convention March 5-9 in San Antonio.

Brookshire's manufacturing facilities received "Best Ice Cream Plant," "Best Sour Cream Plant," and "Best Yogurt Plant" awards and won third place among dairy competitors.

The All Star Dairy Association has a membership of 275 dairy facilities in 45 states, as well as in Puerto Rico and Nova Scotia. Each year, member companies are evaluated and inspected by independent, third-party agencies to determine those with the highest facility standards and product quality.

Brookshire's ice cream plant has received the top award seven out of the past eight years. The company's dairy plant is also a repeat winner, having received five "Best Fluid Plant" awards in the past 10 years.

BGC Manufacturing products are available in Brookshire's and Super 1 Foods stores under the Goldenbrook Farms, Dairy Pride, Sunnybrook Farms, Economize, Flavor Pride, Tampico, Red Diamond, Premier Mountain, and Tasty Bakery labels.
