Giant-Carlisle’s Schupper Named to Fed Dairy Industry Advisory Committee
Bob Schupper, dairy category manager at Carlisle, Pa.-based Giant Food Stores, has been appointed by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to a federal dairy industry advisory committee. Over the next two years, the 17-member committee will review such pressing issues as farm milk price volatility and dairy farmer profitability and consolidation, and suggest ways the U.S. Department of Agriculture can best address the needs of the industry.
The committee encompasses dairy producers and producer organizations, processors and processor organizations, handlers, consumers, academics, retailers and state agencies dealing with organic and non-organic dairy. Schupper, a dairy industry veteran for nearly a quarter of a century, is additionally a member of the Retail Advisory Committee for MilkPEP.
