Heinz Promotes Consumer Products Chief

PITTSBURGH -- H.J. Heinz Co. here said yesterday it has promoted David C. Moran, 47, to e.v.p. Moran also serves as c.e.o. and president, U.S. Consumer Products, for the food marketer.

"Dave has had an impressive track record within U.S. Consumer Products," noted William R. Johnson, Heinz chairman, president and c.e.o., in a statement. "His effective leadership has resulted in strong growth in sales and profits for the $2.2 billion business unit. During his three years at the helm, Dave has led a dramatic turnaround in the U.S. retail business, fueled by consumer-focused product innovation. Organic sales have grown by over $300 million and profits are up over $100 million."

Prior to leading the U.S. Consumer Products business, Moran was president of Heinz Sales Co. in the United States. Earlier, he held several roles at The Clorox Company, culminating in the role of national sales manager. Moran began his marketing and sales management career at Procter & Gamble.
