"We're excited to be opening a Festival Foods in a new area of the Twin Cities," said Knowlan's president Lauri Youngquist. "Our selection of natural and organic foods has been expanded and we're eager to show our new Bloomington customers what great customer service is really all about."

Youngquist said the Bloomington Festival Foods bags groceries for customers and includes a drive through for grocery pickup.

This will be Festival Foods' fifth location with self-scanning check lanes, in addition to traditional full service check lanes. Customers can order deli platters and dessert items online for in store pickup through both the Festival Foods and Taste of Scandinavia websites.

"Inside the grocery market, there are several amenities including a large salad, olive and salsa bar," said Tom Clasen, director of operations for Knowlan's. "In terms of our selection of products, especially our natural and organic choices, this Festival Foods should have the best choices for customers of any grocery market in Bloomington. We've done our homework." Clasen added the new grocery market has expanded service meat and seafood areas as well.

The privately held Knowlan's Super Markets, Inc. owns seven Festival Foods stores and two Knowlan's stores. Festival Foods is a QAI Certified Organic Fresh Produce Retailer.
