Marsh Giving Away Reusable Bags at Grand Reopening

During the grand reopening celebration of a $2 million remodeling of its Zionsville, Ind. Store. Marsh Supermarkets will give the first 200 customers a free a sturdy, reusable "Marsh Green Bag." The bags will be handed out to the first 200 customers beginning this morning and continuing through the next six days.

The original store, which opened in July of 1982, has undergone significant physical improvements including new fixtures, improved energy-efficient lighting and much more.

"Along with these visible physical upgrades, we continue our commitment to the level of customer service Marsh customers have come to expect and have enhanced many of our product offerings," said Frank Lazaran, Marsh president, chairman and c.e.o.

The selection of produce, meat, seafood, breads and cheeses is expanded along with some new, exciting products in the deli, including wings, sushi, Mediterranean and Asian food bars. Boston Market quick, convenient meals are available, as is a Staples office supply section and a new line of natural/organic beauty care products.

Marsh Supermarkets operates 103 supermarkets in Indiana and Ohio under its eponymous banner, as well as Marsh Hometown Markets, Marsh the Marketplace, and O'Malia's Food Markets. The company also owns and operates Crystal Food Services and Primo Banquet Catering and Conference Centers. Marsh Supermarkets has the distinction of being the first grocery store in the world to use electronic scanners to ring up purchases.
