Naples Wild Oats to Donate 5 Percent of Jan. 27 Pre-tax Sales to the Nature Conservancy
BOULDER, Colo. -- Natural and organic food retailer Wild Oats Markets, Inc. here will donate 5 percent of its new Naples, Fla. store's pre-tax sales on Saturday, Jan. 27 to the Conservancy of Southwest Florida to support the organization's efforts to raise money and assist in the rehabilitation of native wildlife, while protecting environmentally sensitive land and preserving water quality.
The store, which officially opens today, will host a membership representative during the Saturday event to discuss the mission of the Conservancy and its efforts.
"Wild Oats is dedicated to serving the communities in which we do business," said Raymond Dunkin, store director for the Naples location. "Together we can educate our customers and the community on how to preserve the local environment that makes southwest Florida such a beautiful place to live."
As part of its educational mission, the Conservancy operates the Conservancy Nature Center, which offers learning opportunities, special activities such as camps for children, and other programming and events.
Wild Oats operates 110 natural foods stores in 24 states and British Columbia, Canada, under the banners of Wild Oats Marketplace, Henry's Farmers Markets, Sun Harvest, and Capers Community Markets.
