In ShopRite's new play center, called Scrunchy's Play House, kids from ages 3 to 8 can play with a variety of toys and games, and enjoy other activities, the company said.

"It gives mom or dad a chance to shop and keep the children occupied," ShopRite spokeswoman Karen Meleta said n an interview with the Poughkeepsie Journal. Associates at the play center undergo background checks, added Meleta.

The store also offers From Home, ShopRite's new online shopping service. Customers choose their products online and can either pick them up at the store or, for a fee, arrange for them to be delivered to their houses.

Additionally, the South Hills Mall location has an organic foods section, called Live Right; and fresh bread brought in daily from Arthur Avenue in the Bronx.
