Philly-oriented Opening for New Giant Super Food Store

CARLISLE, Pa -- The new 97,300-square-foot Giant Super Food Store opening today in Willow Grove, Pa., part of the greater Philadelphia area, will get a debut befitting its status as the largest location in the grocery chain, the first Super Food Store in the region, and just the second foray into this format in the entire state.

At the grand opening ceremonies this morning, Giant executives and the store management team will be joined by local dignitaries, elected officials, and community leaders for a ribbon-cutting, while the Philadelphia Mummers String Band will be on hand to provide entertainment.

Additionally, the green, furry Phillie Phanatic - official mascot of the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team -- will energize the crowd from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The first 300 customers to visit will receive a Giant reusable bag.

The store boasts such health-and-wellness features as an in-store nutritionist, an expanded variety of natural and organic items, brochures, and information available on interactive Shopping Solutions and HealthNotes kiosks.

It also offers a full-service pharmacy and drug store and such amenities as a grocery valet, a child play area, a Wi-Fi Cafe, and a party-planning expert.
