Rutter's Rolls Out Numi Organic Tea Program

YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's Farm Stores, a c-store chain here, yesterday introduced eight new varieties of Numi gourmet organic tea at each of its 50 convenience stores in York, Adams, Cumberland, Franklin and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania.

"The timing of this couldn't be better," noted Rutter's v.p. of food service Brian Matlock. "Many of our customers are hoping to get off to a healthful new year. Teas are associated with a whole range of health benefits, including reducing bad cholesterol, burning calories, and boosting your immune system."

Rutter's sells the tea by the cup: 12 ounces for $1.09; 16 ounces for $1.19; and 20 ounces for $1.29. The tea bags are individually foil-wrapped. Customers can add milk or sugar to taste and can use the retailer's free condiment bar.

The teas complement Rutter's upscale coffee program, which rolled out in the fall.
