Target Selects Fleming for National Food Supply Agreement

DALLAS - Fleming today announced that it has been selected by Target Corporation to supply candy, cookies, and convenience frozen and refrigerated foods to all Target stores nationally. Additionally, Fleming will supply a variety of food products to Target's in-store Food Avenue Cafes.

The agreement anticipates approximately $300 million in annual volume and commences in October 2002.

Under this new arrangement, supply of these products will be consolidated from several distributors to Fleming's single national point of contact for Target's approximately 1,000 stores located in 46 states, resulting in a more efficient supply chain for Target.

Fleming currently supplies many SuperTarget locations with a broad assortment of grocery, frozen, and perishable products. With the addition of this new national supply agreement, Target will become one of Fleming's largest customers, ranking it among the top five.

"We are excited about expanding our relationship with Target," said Mark Hansen, chairman and CEO of Fleming. "This agreement is an example of the outstanding additional organic growth opportunities made possible by our new, national piece-pick distribution operations. It also represents the continued diversification of our customer base with high quality retailers of all formats." The Target agreement brings new supply business to 18 Fleming piece-pick distribution centers.
