Whole Foods Opens in Princeton, N.J.

PRINCETON, N.J. - Austin, Texas-based natural and organic foods retailer Whole Foods Market officially opens its doors today here with a 62,000 square foot store.

The store offers international fare, including fresh artisan breads baked fresh throughout the day, a broad cheese selection, a dry-aged beef cooler, and hand-dipped gelato.

The Princeton Whole Foods also has a sizable lobster tank featuring fresh boat-run lobsters straight from Massachusetts, and a wide selection of bulk products, snacks, coffees, soy milks, and waters.

"We are looking forward to becoming a part of the Princeton community and hope to be considered a trusted food and lifestyle resource and a true neighborhood gathering spot," said Sarah Kenney, marketing director for Whole Foods Market's Mid-Atlantic Region. "After a thorough search for the right location to serve the area, Whole Foods Market hopes to bring together all the neighboring communities interested in a healthy and more sustainable lifestyle -- as well as those interested in experiencing the indulgences of a little guilty pleasure of purely delicious food."

The store features a cafe with seating for 75 people, where customers can pick up restaurant-quality prepared foods from the store and enjoy them in a relaxed dining environment.

"We wanted to consider the needs specific to the Princeton community when we built the store and created its convenient and distinctive amenities," said Evan Schmiedahaus, store team leader. "Our goal is to provide customers with a high-quality shopping experience and outstanding customer service, to make shopping for food fun, the way it should be."

The new location also features a Whole Body at Whole Foods Market, which offers Princeton's largest selection of luxurious natural body care items and cosmetics for men, women, and children, as well as unadulterated nutritional supplements and vitamins.
