BOULDER, Colo. -- Natural and organic food retailer Wild Oats Markets plans to offer AllergyKids products at all 75 Wild Oats stores across the country.

AllergyKids developed its product line to help children with allergies avoid foods that might cause a harmful reaction. Food allergies affect an estimated 2 percent of the adult population and 8 percent of American children, or 5 million. From 1997 to 2002, the prevalence of the peanut allergy doubled, suggesting an annual growth of 20 percent a year of children with life-threatening food allergies.
