WinCo Opens 1 Calif., 2 Utah Stores
Employee-owned WinCo Foods, LLC opened three new discount supermarkets yesterday -- two in the greater Salt Lake City, Utah, market and a third in Hemet, Calif. -- each measuring approximately 94,000 square feet and employing about 225 associates.
Each store features a large “Wall of Values” offering special low pricing on a wide variety of popular items, and a bulk foods section with more than 600 items, including many natural food products, some organics, snacks and candies.
Store managers Josh Harris, Wendell Archer and Raul Garcia are company veterans. Harris, manager of the Midvale, Utah, store, is a 14-year employee who has worked in several stores in Oregon and transfers to Midvale from Federal Way, Wash., where he was a store manager. Archer, manager of the West Valley, Utah store, has worked for WinCo for 23 years in Idaho stores and transfers from Pocatello, Idaho, where he was working as assistant store manager. Garcia, who manages the new California store, is a 13-year employee who worked in several stores before transferring to Hemet from Temecula, Calif., where he was a store manager.
Boise, Idaho-based WinCo operates 70 stores and four distribution centers in the states of Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California, Oregon and Utah.
