Ring Bros. Marketplace Donates $1,200 to Dennis-Yarmouth School Playgrounds

Ring Bros. Marketplace this week donated $1,200 to the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District to restore the playgrounds at Nathaniel H. Wixon Middle and Laurence C. MacArthur Elementary Schools.

The donation was collected during a fundraising program held during the first quarter of this year, and owner Edward Ring and g.m. Donald Fallon presented the check to Carol A. Woodbury, superintendent of the school district at the June 2 school committee meeting.

''We hope that the money that was raised will help the D-Y schools restore the playgrounds,'' said Ring. ''This is only the beginning of our efforts to support the local schools; right now we are looking at ideas for another fundraiser in the fall.''

The goal of the project was to raise enough money to provide developmentally appropriate, safe, and fun equipment for the children of the community.

South Dennis, Mass.-based Ring Bros.'s format consists of six independently owned businesses in the store: Ring Bros. Markets, which specializes in fresh produce, dairy, and grocery products; Harney's Liquors, which provides one of the largest selections of wines, craft brews, and top shelf liquors on Cape Cod; Dark Horse Beef and Deli, offering all-natural beef, chicken, cheese, and deli products; Spinner's Pizza & Burrito, which prepares fresh gourmet pizzas, burritos, take-home meals, and homemade desserts; Chatham Fish & Lobster, with fresh fish, shellfish, and lobster; and Nata's Noodles, which, together with Montilio's Express, rounds out the marketplace with desserts, freshly made pasta, and prepared gourmet foods.
