Rutter’s Farm Stores has added an Android app to its smarftphone application offerings, which include its previously introduced iPhone and Blackberry apps. The apps are available as free downloads on Rutter’s Web site (www.rutters.com) and from each mobile device’s respective app stores: Apple App Store, BlackBerry App World and Android Market.

Customers can use the apps to get directions to their nearest Rutter’s stores, check current gas prices, and redeem paperless mobile coupons sent directly to their phones. They also can register their Rutter’s Rewards loyalty cards, which earn them cents off gasoline.

To redeem their rewards, users click on the Rutter’s Rewards icon on their smart phone displays to bring up their unique member number and bar code, which can be used for transactions instead of a Rutter’s Rewards card or key fob.

York, Pa.-based Rutter’s Farm Stores operates 55 convenience stores in York, Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, and Lancaster counties.
