Sam’s Club has teamed up with Nutrisystem, Inc. to offer Sam’s Club 47 million members cards for the weight-management and services provider’s 35-day program, which includes its recently introduced Omega Chews, in over 600 of the Wal-Mart division’s clubs across the country, beginning late this month.
“By combining the proven science of our weight loss program and the benefits of our new Omega Chews, we are offering Sam’s Club members who want to lose weight a compelling solution for a healthier lifestyle,” said said Will Auchincloss, SVP of business development and international at Horsham, Pa.-based Nutrisystem.
The cards will be available in the gift card area of the clubs. Members may purchase the program through a convenient retail card system that begins with buying a card and then activating it online at nutrisystem.com/startlosing or by calling (800) 784-5657. Once the card is activated and the order is placed, the customer will receive his or her Nutrisystem program and food through the company’s home delivery system. As well as access to the Nutrisystem favorites menu and Omega Chews, the program bought at Sam’s Club will also include shipping, free access to 24/7 weight-loss counseling, and free membership to Nutrisystem’s online community.
According to Nutrisystem, which has struck similar distribution deals with Walmart, Costco and drug store chain Walgreens, the sugar-free, berry-flavored Omega Chews are an optimum source of heart-healthy omega-3s and include 170 milligrams of EPA & DHA in every soft chew. One chew is meant to be ingested twice daily.
