Helping time- and money-challenged households was frozen and prepared food manufacturer Sanderson Farms’ inspiration in developing the “Pull From the Pantry” program, which encourages families to make meals at home with basic ingredients already in their kitchens.

To assist in this endeavor, Sanderson Farms has come up with timesaving recipes so families can actually cook during the week. The recipes, including Asian Inspired Chicken, Basil Stir Fry and Chicken Lettuce Wraps, contain such inexpensive household staples as Italian breadcrumbs, pasta, rice and frozen vegetables. The cost of the meals starts as low as two dollars per person, according to the Laurel, Miss.-based company, which showcases its own 100 percent natural chicken in the recipes.
