Former FMI SVP Michael Sansolo, Ben & Jerry’s Jerry Greenfield and decorated ex-Navy SEAL and author Marcus Luttrell will hold keynote presentations during this year’s Retalix Synergy 2009 Conference and Expo, to be held Nov. 8 through Nov. 11 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas.
With the theme “ROI: Relationships. Opportunities. Innovation,” the conference is designed to help attendees learn how to better use current technology systems and exploit new technology to maximize their business performance.
“Our goal for each attendee -- as underscored by our Synergy 2009 theme -- is to learn and take advantage of the things they can do today,” said Ray Carlin, EVP at Retalix USA. “Barry, Jerry, Marcus, and Michael will help us deliver on that objective by informing and inspiring our audience through their personal insights, trials and successes.”
Following are some keynote highlights:
--Michael Sansolo, longtime SVP of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) and past editor-in-chief of Progressive Grocer, will describe how the current economic crisis may be a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create new relationships, new opportunities, and new business models in the food retail industry
--Jerry Greenfield, co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s Homemade, Inc., helped build a storefront venture into a $300 million ice cream empire by turning social responsibility and creative management into strengths instead of weaknesses. In his presentation, he’ll deliver a tribute to America’s entrepreneurial spirit and address the sense of fun that is his company’s hallmark -- and free ice cream for all who attend
--Marcus Luttrell is author of 2007 No. 1 New York Times best-selling book “Lone Survivor,” in which he tells his true story of four Navy SEALs who journeyed into the mountainous border of Afghanistan and Pakistan on Operation Redwing. Luttrell will present firsthand his motivational story of survival, and give a moving tribute to the friends and teammates who didn’t make it off the mountain
Barry Shaked founded Retalix, Ltd. in April 1982 and has served as president and CEO ever since. He will give his annual keynote speech and explore how attendees can achieve their “ROI” from the conference.
