Save Mart ‘Wayfinders’ to Guide Shoppers through Holiday Stress

The act as personal shoppers during the holiday season

In order to make holiday meal planning and shopping less daunting for its customers, regional independent Save Mart Supermarkets is providing assistance with its new Wayfinders initiative.

Wayfinders are specially trained associates, decked out to be easily recognizable and available to help customers find new holiday merchandise, answer questions, make suggestions, and generally be all-around helpful -- Save Mart’s version of a personal shopper.

The program follows on the success of last year’s “aisle angels” program. Wayfinders are handpicked for their service abilities, their store knowledge, and ability to find the answers to their customers’ questions. Rather than searching the aisles for holiday merchandise, trying to figure out what to take to the office party, or wondering about a gift of food, shoppers need only ask Wayfinder, according to the grocer.

Modesto, Calif.-based Save Mart Supermarkets operates 226 stores in Northern California and Northern Nevada under the Save Mart, S-Mart Foods, Lucky, Maxx Value Foods, and FoodMaxx banners.
