Save Mart Hires Vice President of FoodMaxx

Save Mart Supermarkets hired 35-year grocery veteran Brett Wing as the new VP of FoodMaxx Operations.

“Brett's vast experience with Cub Foods and the variety of positions he has held at Supervalu will allow him to help grow our FoodMaxx market share in an economy that is very challenging for our customers,” said EVP and chief sales officer, and past VP of FoodMaxx, Frank Capps. “It is a time where our customers are looking for value in every food item they buy. We are looking forward to his fresh look at our business.”

In 1987, Wing joined the Cub Foods/Supervalu and held various positions, including VP of marketing, corporate director of produce, corporate director of frozen food/dairy/liquor, senior director of merchandising, division manager, district manager, and store manager.

He started his grocery career with Safeway in Boulder, Colo., and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a Master of Business Administration. He served on the board of trustees for the National MS Society for the past five years and was an active community leader serving as the president of the Cub Cares Community Foundation.

Modesto, Calif.-based Save Mart operates 229 stores throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada under the Save Mart, S-Mart Foods, Lucky, Maxx Value Foods, and FoodMaxx banners.
