Schnucks Installs Deli Ordering Kiosks

Schnuck Markets, Inc., has installed Fresh Foods self-service kiosks to enable its shoppers to place deli orders and other fresh department items and have them prepared as they shop.

The Midwest grocer is using the Fresh Foods kiosks from Lombard, Ill.-based ADUSA, Inc., enabling Schnucks customers to self-order the full range of items available in the fresh food area of the store, including meats, cheeses and a large variety of prepared salads, entrees, side dishes, sandwiches and party trays.

“Our customers have responded very positively to the kiosks,” said Larry Maggio, director of marketing services for St. Louis-based Schnucks. “The self-ordering kiosk not only reduces wait time, but also gives the customer more control over the selection of what goes into the order. The system lets customers recall their order history, offers product suggestions and presents our products in a very attractive way with graphics and extensive informational content.”

Other ADUSA retail clients include Caputo’s, DeCA, Dorothy Lane Market, Foodtown, Fresh Grocer, Fry’s, Kroger, Price Chopper, Stew Leonard’s and Sunset Foods.
