Schnucks Mid-South Stores Make eScrip Fundraising Easy

Just in time for a new school year, Schnucks’ Memphis-based Mid-South stores and eScrip have teamed up to bring customers one of the easiest fundraising opportunities ever. The Schnucks Customer Card that shoppers now use for their fuel rewards program at the division’s eight Schnucks Express fuel centers will now serve a dual purpose by helping local nonprofit organizations earn funds by registering the same Schnucks Customer Card with eScrip via a toll-free number or online at the retailer’s Web site by clicking on the “eScrip Fundraising” icon (found under the heading of “services”).

Once registration is complete, every time a customer presents and scans an eScrip Customer Card at the checkout of one of 13 area Schnucks stores, he or she will not only earn fuel rewards, but also contribute a percentage of the total grocery bill to the customer’s designated nonprofit organization.

Each cardholder can earn funds for his or her favorite qualifying organizations without doing anything extra, explains Jerry Beck, Schnucks Mid-South director of marketing and merchandising. “The meter starts and ends each month. For the first $300 spent, Schnucks will contribute 1 percent; on the next $301 to $600, Schnucks will contribute 2 percent, and for purchases between $601 and $999, Schnucks will contribute 3 percent,” said Beck.

Registered organizations will receive their funds monthly, making it an ongoing, year-round fundraiser. The Web site also allows cardholders and organizations to track their progress.

The Schnucks Customer Card isn’t just for schools, said Beck, adding that many qualifying nonprofit organizations can also register to be beneficiaries of the program. “Schnucks is a strong community partner, and we are excited about the opportunities presented through the Schnucks Customer Card. One of the best ways we can thank customers for their loyalty to us is to support the organizations important to them.”

Out-of-pocket Schnucks pharmacy purchases qualify for contributions, as well as almost all products sold at Schnucks. However, contributions can’t be earned on the purchase of Schnucks gift cards, special services, taxes, fuel purchases or merchandise purchased at Schnucks Express stores.

St. Louis-based Schnuck Markets, Inc. operates 105 stores (including five Logli stores) and 101 pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee and Mississippi.
