Emeryville, Calif.-based food safety auditing and training provider Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) has been accredited to certify to the GLOBALG.A.P Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) standard on a global basis.
"SCS is pleased to be able to extend our GLOBALG.A.P services to clients worldwide," said Heena Patel, director of food & agriculture auditing services at SCS. "The GLOBALG.A.P standard is becoming increasingly important to producers and suppliers everywhere as the focus on food safety increases."
GLOBALG.A.P (formerly known as EUREPG.A.P) has established itself as a key reference for Good Agricultural Practices (G.A.P.) in the global marketplace, according to SCS. The GLOBALG.A.P standard is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), a collaboration of food safety experts representing retailers, manufacturers, foodservice companies, and food supply chain service providers.
