ShopRite Rolls Out Caroline’s Cart

ShopRite and Procter & Gamble have joined forces to bring Caroline’s Cart customized shopping carts for special-needs children and adults to its more than 250 ShopRite stores across the Northeast, starting in June.

To mark the occasion, an unveiling event featuring Drew Ann Long, founder of Caroline's Cart, will take place Thursday, May 29 at 11 a.m. at the ShopRite of Woodbridge, N.J. Long created the cart for her daughter Caroline, launching the Birmingham, Ala.-based company in 2013. Also scheduled to attend the event are ShopRite officials, representatives from Cincinnati-based P&G, Special Olympics New Jersey President and CEO Marc Edenzon, and Special Olympics Ambassadors Nadia Comaneci and Bart Connor.

The 2014 Special Olympic Games will be held in Princeton, N.J., in June. As founding partner of the games, ShopRite will provide all food and snacks for the athletes, as well as catering for the hospitality suites and receptions. The banner is also the official floral provider for the games, delivering arrangements to all receptions.

It has also been widely used for children with autism, providing a safe solution while in the store. The cart has already debuted at such grocers as Kroger and Wegmans.
