On the heels of the recent highly publicized salmonella outbreak linked to tomatoes, online grocer SimonDelivers is promoting its capabilities to alert specific customers of FDA-issued recalls immediately via instant email notification.
Because SimonDelivers maintains a record of purchases, “We can track exactly which brand our customers purchase and we alert them via email as to whether or not the brand they purchased was affected by a recall,” said Liwanag Ojala, SimonDelivers’ president/c.o.o. “There’s no guesswork or worrying and no need to check for mysterious codes on the packaging.”
During last year’s ground beef recall, for example, the online grocer said it was able to communicate to its customers via email that the recall did not affect ground beef purchased through SimonDelivers.com. “We hear over and over from our customers how much they appreciate this service,” Ojala said. “It gives them peace of mind knowing that they will be alerted either way about food recalls.”
SimonDelivers Inc is an online grocery delivery company servicing 3,200 square miles surrounding the metropolitan areas of Minneapolis and St. Paul, from a single distribution center.
