Sobeys to Offer Aeroplan Loyalty Program
Sobeys has signed a multiyear agreement with loyalty management corporation Groupe Aeroplan, Inc. that will enable Aeroplan program members to earn air miles on grocery purchases at Sobeys stores in certain Canadian provinces.
Stellarton, N.S.-based Sobeys is the first food retailer to become an Aeroplan partner. More details will follow when the offer rolls out, noted Montreal-based Groupe Aeroplan.
Sobeys also offers the rival Air Miles Reward Program at stores in the Atlantic region, but that initiative will be unaffected by the new deal. "[The Aeroplan partnership] is not going to impact our relationship with the Air Miles Reward Program at all," Sobeys spokeswoman Barbara McCully told Progressive Grocer, noting that the Aeroplan program would be offered at different stores.
