    Soup for a ‘Good Cause’

    Tabatchnick campaign will distribute product to nominated soup kitchens, food pantries

    In honor of National Soup Month in January, Tabatchnick Soups is inviting consumers to nominate such nonprofits as food pantries, soup kitchens and other assistance organizations to get donated Tabatchnick products.

    The “Tabatchnick Great Soup, Good Cause” campaign is calling for nominations via the company’s Facebook page. The Great Soup, Good Cause link offers visitors information on how to nominate an organization. Nominees will then be evaluated, with the recipients revealed in February.

    “The need has never been greater,” noted Tabatchnick CEO and fourth-generation soupmaker Ben Tabatchnick. “We want people to tell us about a deserving group in their city or town, and why they would benefit from the donation.”

    The Somerset, N.J.-based company, America’s oldest family-owned national soup brand, is a pioneer in the development of healthful foods for needy populations. In the United States, Tabatchnick provides high-protein soups, snacks and drinks to schools, homeless shelters and soup kitchens, while in the Third World, starving people benefit from nutritional supplements and foods developed by the company and its partners.

    Campaign nominations will be accepted until midnight EST on Jan. 31. “We’d love to hear about local groups and why they’re a ‘good cause’ in need of great soup!” said Tabatchnick.
