SPINS, Mrs. Green's Expand Partnership and Key Account Service

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. -- SPINS, an information and service provider for the natural products industry, said it has expanded its partnership with Mrs. Green's Natural Market, a Scarsdale, N.Y.-based chain of 11 stores. Under the new long-term agreement, SPINS and Mrs. Green's will launch a key account data service, providing category, brand, and item-level information specific to the retailer.

As part of the new partnership, a full-time SPINS business consultant will work on-site with Mrs. Green's to assist with the efficient management and analysis of key account data. The fact-based information service and on-site support will allow Mrs. Green's to work more effectively with vendors and business partners.

According to Mrs. Green's co-founders, Harold and June Hochberger, the expanded partnership will enable the retailer to "gain valuable insight into the performance of our stores, the natural channel, and its dynamic consumers."

"SPINS continues to invest in independent natural retailers, ensuring that they get their fair share of resources in this increasingly competitive marketplace," added SPINS c.e.o. Tony Olson. "Enhancing Mrs. Green's ability to track sales, execute merchandising and promotional programs, and implement best business practices will further drive the overall success of the natural channel."

With locations throughout northeastern New York and southwestern Connecticut, Mrs. Green's Natural Market was recently acquired by Planet Organic Health Corp., an Edmonton, Alta.-based company that manufactures, distributes, and sells natural products.

SPINS, a sister company of Progressive Grocer, was founded in 1995 as the first company to offer natural products sales data to the industry. Its comprehensive offering includes retail measurement services, content-based reporting, consumer information, and consulting services.
