Spinx Promotes Two Execs to Leadership Team

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Spinx Co. is making more changes to its executive leadership team, naming Cheryl Szczesniak as chief information officer (CIO) and Steven Visser as chief financial officer (CFO).

Szczesniak joined Spinx in 2005 as its operations controller. She was promoted to lead the company’s technology team in 2007. She took title to the CIO role earlier this year and is currently responsible for the company’s technology infrastructure and information technology project management.

Visser began his career with Spinx in 2006 as assistant controller. He was promoted to operations controller in 2007 and moved up to corporate accounting controller two years later. In his new position, Visser will lead the company’s financial operations, while overseeing the accounting and treasury departments.

He transitioned to CFO with the promotion of Stan Storti to president. In January, Storti became the retailer's first president from outside the founding family.

As part of the company's executive leadership team, Szczesniak and Visser will join other senior-level executives to focus on strategy planning, policy development and workplace oversight.

Greenville, S.C.-based The Spinx Co. operates 74 convenience retail stores in South Carolina and North Carolina.
