SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- Stater Bros. Markets and volunteers from Second Harvest Food Bank yesterday formed a turkey "brigade" to unload a 125-turkey donation, slated to feed the hungry in the Riverside and San Bernardino Counties during the holidays.
Stater Bros. worked with Cargill Meat Solutions, producers of Honeysuckle White turkey products, as part of Cargill's national More To Share hunger-fighting program. Stater Bros. and Honeysuckle White donated 2,300 pounds of turkey to Second Harvest..
"Stater Bros. has always been a strong advocate of helping those in need, and the partnership with More To Share is a great match," said Daryl Brock, executive director of the Second Harvest division that serves Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. "The demand for food from our constituents continues to grow, and this donation helps us take a step closer to meeting those needs."
Stater Bros. operates 164 supermarkets, and employs 18,000 associates.
