Stater Bros. to Buy Two Albertsons Locations

Regional independent Stater Bros. has entered into a purchase agreement with Albertsons for the purchase of the land, building and fixtures at its Lake Elsinore and Hesperia stores.

The new Lake Elsinore supermarket will replace a smaller Stater Bros. located at located in the town. At 43,162 square-feet, the new store is 76 percent larger than the existing Stater Bros. Store.

Stater Bros. has served the City of Lake Elsinore for more than 34 years, and currently operates three stores there. It expects to take possession of the location from Albertsons in mid-May. The supermarket will subsequently undergo a complete remodel and reopen under the Stater Bros. banner. A grand opening celebration for the new store is scheduled for early Spring 2012.

The Hesperia Supermarket will also replace a smaller Stater Bros. and will be more than double the size of the existing facility. As with Lake Elsinore, Stater Bros. has served the City of Hesperia for 34 years operates three stores there.

Stater Bros. expects to take possession of the location from Albertsons in mid-May. The supermarket will then undergo a complete remodel and reopen under the Stater Bros banner in early Spring 2012.

Stater Bros. operates 167 supermarkets in Southern California.
