Stater Bros. Charity Golf Tourney to Aid Vets

The Stater Bros. Charities Dave Stockton Heroes Challenge golf tournament will be held once again at the Victoria Club Golf Course in Riverside, Calif., on Monday, March 10.

Proceeds from the event will fund veterans’ organizations, including new vans for Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center in Loma Linda to transport veterans in outlying areas to their medical appointments.

In 2008, Stater Bros. Markets’ Chairman and CEO Jack H. Brown partnered with PGA Champions Tour Pro Dave Stockton to launch the event, which, since its inception, has raised more than $3 million for Southern California charities and has become the largest charity golf event in the region.

This year’s Heroes Challenge will bring together six Medal of Honor recipients and 17 additional members of the PGA Tour, as well as PGA veteran Lee Trevino and 2008 RE/MAX World Long Drive Champion, Sr. Division, Dan Boever.

Stater Bros. Charities is a non-profit organization that supports critical needs in the communities where Stater Bros. employees live and work.
