Stater Bros. Names VP, Meat Div

Stater Bros. has promoted John Ciraulo to vice president of the grocer’s meat division, replacing Kevin Schubert, who will retire in March.

In his new position, Ciraulo will oversee the marketing and retail operations of the company's meat and seafood divisions; he will report to Dennis McIntyre, EVP, marketing.

As a 28-year veteran of Stater Bros., Ciraulo was promoted to retail meat supervisor in 1999, to buyer/merchandiser in the marketing department in 2007, and was named meat buyer in the marketing/meat division later that year. In 2010, Ciraulo was promoted to director of marketing of the grocer's meat division, his most recent position.

Ciraulo earned a vocational teaching credential from California State University, San Bernardino in 2001 and is an instructor for the Stater Bros. Meat Cutting Apprentice Program.

"John is a well-respected and valuable member of our management team," said Jack H. Brown, chairman of the board and CEO. "This promotion is a result of his leadership skills and the contributions that he has made towards the success of the company's Meat Division."

San Bernardino, Calif.-based Stater Bros. operates 167 supermarkets.
