Stater Bros. Promotes Dan Meyer to SVP Retail Ops

Stater Bros. Markets has promoted Dan Meyer to the position of SVP retail operations, a new position in the company.

Meyer will be responsible for the retail operations of all 167 Stater Bros. Supermarkets as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of its Corporate Training Center. “Dan is a well-respected and valuable member of our senior management team,” stated Jack Brown, chairman and CEO of Stater Bros. “This promotion is a result of his leadership skills and the contributions that he has made towards the success of the company’s retail operations department.”

Meyer is a 40-year veteran of Stater Bros., first joining in 1971 as a Courtesy Clerk at the company’s La Sierra Supermarket in Riverside and then progressing through a range of retail store and district supervision positions.

In 2005, he was promoted to regional VP, and in 2009, he was promoted to his most recent position of senior regional VP.

He currently serves on the boards of Stater Bros. Charities and the California Shopping Cart Retrieval Corporation. He has also been elected to serve on the board of directors for the California Grocers Association effective December 1, 2011.

In his new position, Meyer will report to George Frahm, EVP retail operations and administration.

San Bernardino, Calif.-based Stater Bros. operates 167 Supermarkets in Southern California.
