Stater Bros. Ups Fero to SVP, Distribution

Stater Bros. Markets has promoted Darold Fero to senior vice president, distribution, in which he will oversee the operation of the company's Norton Distribution Center in addition to the transportation and fleet maintenance departments. He will report to George Frahm, executive vice administration and distribution.

Fero first joined Stater Bros. in 1981 as a marker, and was promoted to several distribution center positions including order selector, forklift receiver in 1984 and foreman in 1986.

Fero was named distribution center supervisor in 1988 and director dry distribution in 2000. In September 2010, he was named director distribution and senior director distribution later that year. In 2011, Fero was promoted to vice president distribution, his most recent position.

"Darold is a well-respected and valuable member of our management team," said CEO Jack H. Brown. "This promotion is a result of his outstanding leadership skills that have taken our distribution operations to new levels of service and efficiency."

San Bernardino, Calif.-based Stater Bros. operates 167 supermarkets.
