Stew Leonard’s Opening Little Farms for Season

Celebrations will include activities for kids, naming contest

To mark the April 21 opening for the season of the Little Farms attractions at its Norwalk and Danbury, Conn., and Yonkers, N.Y., stores, Norwalk-based Stew’s Leonard’s will host a parade led by clowns, Clover the Cow, Daphne Duck and Cynthia Chick at each locations, while local farmers bring in the calves, kids and lambs in on a hay-filled wagon. Kids will also get to take part in face painting, as well as receiving balloons and snacks.

Additionally, as each Stew Leonard’s Little Farm is celebrating the arrival of two calves, two kids and two lambs for the 2012 season, so children ages 4 to 10 can enter the “Name Our Babies” contest at the three stores by picking up an entry form at customer service starting Thursday, April 5 and placing their recommended animal names in the suggestion box. The contest ends Sunday, April 15, and winners will be informed by Wednesday, April 18.

The contest winners will have their photograph taken with the animal they named, during the opening festivities.
