Stop & Shop/Giant-Landover Name CFO, HR EVP
Ahold USA division Stop & Shop/Giant-Landover has appointed Paula A. Price CFO and Paula Labian EVP of human resources, completing the company’s leadership team.
In her new role, Price, a certified public accountant, will oversee the finance, strategy and planning, and IT functions at Stop & Shop and Giant Food. Her most recent position was SVP, controller and chief accounting officer for CVS/Caremark Corp. Earlier, she held leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase, Prudential Financial, Diageo, Kraft Foods and Sears. Price, who began her career at Arthur Andersen, will work at the Quincy, Mass. headquarters office. She succeeds Jim Rojas, who is leaving the company.
As EVP of human resources, Labian will play a major part in positioning Stop & Shop and Giant Food for the future. For the past six years, she was chief human resources officer (CHRO) and global VP of human resources at Whole Foods Market, Inc., where she led an international team of HR professionals to support programs for over 280 stores and 54,000 associates. Before that, Labian held leadership roles at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Harris Specialty Chemicals and Marine Transportation Services, Inc. She will also work out of the Quincy office. Labian replaces John Bussenger, EVP of Human Resources of fellow Ahold division Giant-Carlisle, who took on the responsibilities of the position on an interim basis.
