Sunflower Farmers Market Opening 1st Calif. Store

Sunflower Farmers Market plans to open its inaugural California store on May 11 at 7:00 a.m. in the town of Roseville, bringing at least 100 jobs to the area. The Boulder, Colo.-based organic and natural grocer already operates 33 locations in six Southwestern states.

Featuring fresh, local produce, all-natural meats and seafood, a large bulk selection, and natural health-and-wellness products at value prices, the store will open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Other grand-opening features include the gift of a reusable shopping bag filled with groceries for the first 200 customers to make a purchase, valued at over $50; a free reusable grocery bag with purchase to the first 10,000 shoppers, live music, vendor booths, kids’ activities, and specials to mark the occasion.

In keeping with Sunflower’s commitment to eco-friendly practices and initiatives, the new location has energy-efficient light fixtures and occupancy sensors; recycled and refurbished equipment, cases and fixtures; and water-saving devices such sensor operated sinks and a hot-water reclaim tank.
