Sunshine Food Stores Offers BillAway Rewards

Family-owned Sunshine Food Stores and BillAway have launched a rewards program that enables Sunshine’s customers to earn credits through their everyday shopping and then apply those credits directly to their grocery bills at the point of sale.

Customers of Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sunshine, which operates 14 stores in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota, can earn credits by shopping at more than 25,000 participating BillAway retailers, both online and in-store, using their registered credit and debit cards. Earned credits will automatically lower their grocery bills at checkout in any Sunshine store.

“BillAway has been working on a solution to preserve margins while offering substantial discounts and flexibility to grocery and convenience store chains for some time,” said Paul Harkins, CEO of Boston-based BillAway, which powers loyalty programs for more than 100 companies. “Reducing a grocery bill at the point of sale without impacting Sunshine’s margins is a win for Sunshine, its customers and BillAway.”
