Superior Grocers, Unilever Donate $38,000 to Support Education

Southern California regional independent Superior Grocers and Unilever, have joined together to donate $38,000 to 38 local schools. The selected 38 schools will receive $1,000 each and school representatives will attend a ceremony Thursday, April 19, at Superior's Montebello store.

Through the program, called “Superior for Education,” the selected 38 schools will receive $1,000 each during a ceremony Thursday, April 19, to be held at the Superior Grocers’ Whittier store in Montebello, Calif.

“Superior for Education is about making that special connection with local communities throughout Southern California,” said Phil Lawrence, COO of Superior Grocers. “Schools are selected depending on their proximity to our 38 store locations. This program will run throughout the year and thousands of dollars are expected to be awarded to many Southern California schools.”

Los Angeles-based Superior Grocers operates 38 stores in Southern California.
