    Supervalu/Albertsons Honored with Cause Marketing Halo Award

    The retailer's elementary school field trip program, "Albertsons Healthy Eaters," earned the silver award in the Best Health Campaign category.

    Minneapolis-based Supervalu and its Albertsons stores were recently honored for the "Albertsons Healthy Eaters" program during the sixth annual Cause Marketing Halo Awards. The retailer's elementary school field trip program earned the silver award in the Best Health Campaign category.

    The awards are presented by Chicago-based Cause Marketing Forum, Inc. Cause marketing is the strategy of building mutually beneficial alliances between companies and causes.

    Sixteen category-specific awards were presented at the Cause Marketing Halo Awards luncheon on May 29 to campaigns that occurred in whole or in part in 2007.

    The gold winner for Best Health Campaign was "Skin Cancer Takes Friends," created by Procter & Gamble's Olay and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
