This month, Bakersfield, Calif.-based Sun World International, LLC will start offering supplies of Santa Sweets grape tomatoes in 1-pint and 1-quart clamshells merchandised under a co-branded Santa Sweets-Sun World label for both conventional and organic product. Harvested from Mexico, proprietary Santa Sweets are grown from first-generation (F1) seed, which provides the purest variety on the market, according to the Plant City, Fla.-based grower and packer. The squirt-free, snackable fruit also has a higher Brix content than other grape tomatoes, resulting in a sweeter, more satisfying flavor.
