Dezina Marketing apparently misspoke two days ago when it announced a joint venture between itself and SYSCO that would lead to selling food products online to consumers. SYSCO said yesterday that, contrary to what Dezina had stated, it has not negotiated with or entered into any joint venture with Dezina, though it does currently deliver foodservice products to commissaries operated by Dezina.
SYSCO sells, markets, and distributes food products to restaurants, healthcare, and educational facilities, lodging establishments, and other customers who prepare meals away from home. Its family of products also includes equipment and supplies for the foodservice and hospitality industries. The company operates 180 distribution facilities serving more than 400,000 customers.
