Fairway Honors Fallen Policeman

PrintFairway Honors Fallen Policeman

Fairway Market is paying tribute to the sacrifice of slain New York police officer Peter Figoski by donating 10 percent of all proceeds made on Thursday, Jan. 5, at its Red Hook (Brooklyn); Plainview (Long Island) and Douglaston (Queens) stores between the hours of 3 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The money raised will go the New York City Police Foundation’s Peter Figoski Scholarship, which will pay for the college education of the 22-year NYPD veteran’s four daughters. Consumers who want to provide further assistance can also visit the foundation’s website.

A resident of New York’s Long Island, Figoski was killed in the line of duty on Dec. 12 during a botched robbery in Brooklyn. He was 47 years old. Four suspects have been charged in the murder.

Fairway operates nine stores in the New York metropolitan area.
