Ahold USA, FoodLink Sign Long-term Agreement

PrintAhold USA, FoodLink Sign Long-term Agreement

Ahold USA Inc. has signed a long-term agreement with FoodLink, the buying platform that connects fresh food retailers and wholesalers to a network of more than 2,000 supplier companies. Under the agreement, Los Gatos, Calif.-based FoodLink will become the definitive online buying platform for all fresh produce, meat, seafood, deli and floral category purchasing across more than 750 stores under the Giant-Carlisle, Giant-Landover, Martin’s and Stop & Shop banners.

“Ahold has long been an important customer for FoodLink, and this new agreement highlights not just their support of FoodLink, but also the priority Ahold places on sourcing and managing fresh, safe food across a large and complex supply chain,” noted FoodLink CEO Eric Peters.

FoodLink’s network helps retailers manage the fresh food category to source high-quality products at competitive prices while reducing waste and inefficiencies across the supply chain. For suppliers, FoodLink is a sales platform that streamlines order management, shipment tracking, response to change requests and receiving payment.

The U.S. arm of Amsterdam-based Royal Ahold, Ahold USA employs about 117,000 employees in 14 states and the District of Columbia, and also ows Peapod, the nation’s leading online grocery shopping/delivery service.
