Price Chopper Supermarkets/Golub Corp. has promoted Keith Frosceno the position of group VP of fresh foods merchandising, Matt Johnson to the position of VP of meat merchandising and Elaine Garner to the position of VP of taxation, and hired Jessica Morin to the position of zone director, responsible for 12 stores in New York.

Reporting directly to Russell Zwanka, SVP of sales, merchandising and marketing, Frosceno (left) will oversee procurement, marketing and merchandising initiatives for all fresh food departments, including training, developing and evaluating all fresh food department personnel for the Schenectady, N.Y.-based grocery chain. He came to the company in 2006 as a senior category manager for produce with more than 22 years of experience in retail grocery management, rising to the position of VP of produce merchandising. Before joining Price Chopper, Frosceno held top management positions for Bozzuto’s Inc. and Supervalu/W. Newell & Co.

Johnson (right), reporting directly to Frosceno, will direct procurement, marketing and merchandising initiatives for the meat department, including training, developing and evaluating meat department personnel. Previously hholding the position of senior category manager, meat, he came to the grocer in 2010 with more than 13 years of experience in retail grocery management. Before Price Chopper he worked at Safeway and the North West Co.

Reporting directly to VP and corporate controller Carol Cillis, Garner (left) will manage the tax and retirement, federal and state tax compliance and analyses for Price Chopper, where she has worked with since 2002, holding several positions in tax and payroll areas of the company.

Morin (right) joins Price Chopper with 23 years of experience in grocery retail, most recently holding the position of district manager for Safeway in the Phoenix division. She also worked for the Kroger Co. in Columbus, Ohio. For her new role, Morin will relocate to the Capital District area of upstate New York with her family.

The family-owned Golub Corp. owns and operates 128 Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Golub employs more than 23,000 associates who collectively own 52 percent of the company’s privately held stock.
