Save Mart Supermarkets has appointed Eric J. Nadworny to the newly created role of chief human resources officer and chief legal officer, and Greg Hill as CFO.

“I welcome Eric and Greg to the Save Mart team,” said Steve Junqueiro, president and COO. “I am confident that their fresh perspective, combined with their years of experience, will prove to be great assets to our company, our associates, and the communities we serve.”

As CHRO/CLO at Save Mart, Nadworny is responsible for leading the human resources, labor relations, risk management, compliance, and legal functions for the Modesto, California-based grocer. Nadworny has extensive experience in both the private and public sectors, and has honed his leadership skills in the retail industry at such well-known companies as Ross Stores, BJ’s Wholesale Club and Shaw’s Supermarkets (US Group, Sainsbury Supermarkets).

A graduate of Dartmouth College and Boston University School of Law, Nadworny currently serves as a board member and legal officer for Food4Farmers, a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating food insecurity in coffee-growing communities around the world.

Hill began his professional career with Price Waterhouse LLP, where he provided audit and transaction support services to a diverse mix of companies including retail, technology, real estate, and agriculture. He has spent the past 14 years serving on executive leadership teams for both private and public companies, primarily as CFO, but also in GM and CEO positions.

In his role as Save Mart’s CFO, Hill will oversee the finance, information technology, business analytics, strategy and business development, and internal audit functions.

Save Mart operates 225 stores throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada under the Save Mart, S-Mart Foods, Lucky, Maxx Value Foods, and FoodMaxx banners.
