Progressive Grocer’s 2012 Retailer of the Year, Harris Teeter, is putting the finishing touches on its new 201central concept stores that are set to open in Wesley Chapel, N.C., and Huntersville, N.C., on Weds., Oct. 17.

As PG previously reported, Harris Teeter’s new 201central concept stores will feature an extensive variety of wine, beer, specialty foods and other general merchandise items, positioning the Matthews, N.C.-based regional grocer to offer increasingly specialized services to its customers, including event coordination and party rentals, as well as educational classes focused on wine, beer and food pairings.

The convenience-oriented markets will also provide customers with the ability to explore a wide variety of wines utilizing the try-before-you buy, temperature controlled WineStation, which will enable guests to enjoy featured wines by the taste, half and full glass.

The Very Important Customer (VIC) card will be valid at 201central, and these new stores will also honor the advertised items or promotions that are active within the Harris Teeter chain.
